How Much Money Are Your Procedures Costing You?

Grabbing lunch today on a popular cafe and we were told it would be a 35 minute wait. We were tight for time so we went somewhere else.

I started to think how could a business owner let this sort of thing happen. (Apparently it’s a regular occurrence) And I guess they probably think it’s all good because they’re busy!

But here’s the thing… The overheads for the lunchtime staff, electricity etc etc are the same no matter how much they sell, so why wouldn’t you want to make more money in the same amount of time.

It’s not as if it’s a surprise it would be busy at lunchtime, so why wouldn’t put some effort to get your team to help you figure out some better systems and procedures to relieve the pressure, make it more fun, get the food out faster and perhaps better!

Every extra sale they made (and they were missing out on heaps) goes straight to profit (Less cost of goods)

So what if you were to get the team together once a week for 30 minutes to discuss ways of making things faster, better and more fun. It would take very little to make up the 30 minutes and you would be into profit before you knew it.

Plus… the benefits of team morale taking a lift because people love to contribute, learn and be part of a successful team.

So schedule it. Prioritise it & get it done. You won’t regret it (Unless you don’t do it!!)
